STATEMENT FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT
"This morning as the Principal of Northside School did her morning security checks before opening the campus for students and staff she identified an unknown subject on the campus. The Principal notified the Grady County SRO chief who advised her to lock down the school. Assisted by Cairo Police and the Grady County Sheriff's Dept. the interior and exterior of the campus were fully checked and after examining campus video, the determination was made the subject had left campus. The lockdown was then lifted and Northside School resumed a regular school day. At no time were any students or staff members in harm's way. On behalf of Grady County Schools I want to thank the Grady SROs, CPD and Grady SO for their quick response to our school campus." -Dr. Eric McFee
